A blown circuit breaker triggered a cascade of unfortunate hardware failures in my server closet. I had a RAID 5 NAS that suffered multiple drive failure and I was unable to recover it on my own. Since it contained years of work on personal projects as well as many cherished family photos, I decided to give Secure Data Recovery a try, and I am so glad I did! Timothy Rutan picked up the phone almost immediately and I was able to explain my problem in technical detail. He got me set up with a shipping label immediately and I mailed my drives in same day. After a few days of work they reported that they were able to recover 100% of my data! Once I wired payment they promptly shipped me my old drives back as well as a WD My Passport encrypted external drive. I had a little trouble with WD''s decryption software but ultimately was able to access all of my data almost immediately. Throughout the entire process, I was able to email Timothy directly with any questions I had, and he responded promptly. Hopefully I won''t have another catastrophic failure like this, but it''s awesome to know that they''ve got my back if I do!

I sent in a 4 TB Western Digital internal HDD that I thought was only a data issue as the drive had become de-initialized and could not be accessed by my computer or other adapter devices that I had tried. Assuming that the drive was done for I decided to send it in to Secure Data Recovery services to check and see if the data could be saved. When I called them, Eric Dvorin took my call and started to walk me through the process of recovery. Eric set me up to have the HDD dropped off at a local store to be shipped to Ohio for their technicians to check out the drive. Two days later I received word that in fact there were two read/write heads that had severe damage and there was light platter damage where the heads had contacted them. The good news was that 99.9% of the data was recoverable. Only four files that were located in the area of the platters were the heads struck were not retrievable. Eric told me about the results of the investigation and then presented me with several options for recovery if I chose to go forward with the plan. We were able to come up with an option that worked for my budget, time frame of recovery, and for all the data to be saved and placed on a new HDD. The files that were recoverable and the files that were damaged were all presented to me in a link so that I could determine if I wanted to save everything or just pick what files I wanted. The damaged 4TB HDD was just about full of data files, video files, pictures, and documents, and I chose to save all possible files that could be saved. I submitted the HDDD on 7/23/24 and on 8/8/24 the new HDD with all the data was back to me and ready for use. I can''t thank Eric and Secure Data Recovery Services enough for taking care of my failed drive and keeping me updated and informed every step of the way. I hope I never have to use their services again but in the event I have another HDD that fails, they will be my first call!!! Great job and thanks again!! -Michael S.

Loosing valuable files is devastating! Just out of the blue, they were no longer on a hard drive.Talk about frustrating.After communicating with the hard drive company, they recommend a list of 3rd party recovery parties to retrieve the data.Decided upon Secure Data Recovery, and I am glad we did.The communication was consistent, and clear.The recovered files are on their way.
